On Recommended rig, I can get 90FPS at 1080p with Shadows turned off, and everything else set to max. Seriously, I don't even think Fallout 4 is that badly optimized, aside from the Shadow drawing. Bethesda's games actually leverage Memory and CPU in a way that is integral to gameplay. Most games are almost exclusively GPU bound because of pretty shinies. Because of how much data and variables the games are tracking, they're constantly running simulation checks in the background. New Vegas was horribly optimized too, as was Fallout 3, and Oblivion, and Morrowind, and Skyrim.īy Horribly optimized, what people actually mean is CPU and Memory intensive. But Im saying that, NV graphics wise, everything looks like it should, and Fallout 4 wise, everything looks plastic Is this because of bad optimization that the above people are talking about? Well, iirc Fallout 4 is running a different engine than NV, but ya it does need optimization. On nv I run constant 60fps on high, while on fallout I can only get 40 on minimal settings. ![]()
